Singapore now boasts one of the foremost solar cell research centres in the world, SERIS (Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore) at the National University of Singapore. The overall leader is Prof Luther, formerly of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy in Freiburg, Germany. Deputy CEO is Prof Armin Aberle, formerly from the University of New South Wales.

SERIS has purchased the INPHAZE instrument as one of their first characterization tools. Head of the Characterization Department, Dr Bram Hoex, formerly from the University of Eindhoven in The Netherlands, said that the INPHAZE tool is absolutely right for his goals due to its unsurpassed accuracy, especially in regard to phase angle resolution.
